ent to Lake Garda on recommendation from a Scottish couple we’d met in the Dordogne who had kids similar ages to ours. They talked-up “Bella Italia”, a HUGE camping complex with swimming pools / water slides / kids entertainment etc.
Not really our cup-of-tea but this trip is about compromises, and this sounded a good option for the kids to get their “fill” before we took them off to the mountains, sight-seeing again.
We really should have read the signs. When we arrived, there seemed to no more mobile-homes available, but our persistence eventually found one many hours later, just in time to use the pool for one hour before it closed... for the next TWO DAYS!
Yes, it rained heavily and non-stop for the two days we were there which caused the power to fail across the entire complex.
We’re been incredibly lucky with the weather during our trip, but the leaves are starting to change to that brilliant colour that only European trees do. Our shorts are being swapped for our jeans and our one jumper is being dragged out more often. But there are still days that are warm enough to soak up the sun... we’re not ready to come home just yet!
